As she said at the end of her working career, “Retirement wasn’t an option for me. I knew in my heart I could still help one more family and hold one more hand.”

Lucy Cardile has for nearly three decades been an executive assistant to three different City of Vaughan council members. Getting answers to citizen enquiries, pointing them in the right direction, resolving issues----those are all part of the job for her year. As a volunteer, she’s worked for several local community-based organizations.
